In anticipation of the centenary of the reestablishment of the Lithuanian State, the National Museum of Lithuania is holding a series of virtual exhibitions about the Lithuanian people who were forcibly deported from their homeland in the years of mass Soviet repressions (1940–1941; 1944–1953). Three exhibitions of the series have already been launched: “The First Years of Soviet Terror (1940–1941)”, “Post-War Arrests and Deportations (1944 – early 1948)”, and “The Deportation Operation Vesna (22–23 May 1948)”.

In commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the beginning of mass deportations, and with the aim to make the accumulated material accessible to non-Lithuanian speakers, the museum has prepared a virtual tour in English on the basis of the exhibition “Without a Homeland” held last year. You can take the tour here.
